Boosting Home Energy

Just a quick update to a previous post about new, innovative ideas for unusual, but useful gifts.  Well, the gift of an adorable dairy cow humidifier as a new baby gift was a success!  Not only did the cute, but functional humidifier bring lots of ooh's and aah's from shower-goers, but it also sparked a really good conversation with the mom-to-be about creating the most comfortable room for her baby.  One seasoned mom offered that she has always run a battery operated fan in her baby's room to create "white noise" to help with sleeping.  Another questioned why battery powered instead of electric.  She replied that was one less cord she had to worry about her crawling little one grabbing!  What a great tip.  I had never thought about the benefits of the white noise, but my own little one has grown up with a register booster fan in his room to help with the air circulation.  Apparently I've had the added benefit of soothing background sounds, too!
